What is your name?

My name is Josh Minyard.

 

How long have you been teaching and what grades?

This school year is my 12th year of teaching. I have taught PE, 6th, 5th and 3rd grades.

How long have you taught 6th grade?

This is my 5th year teaching 6th grade.  I taught 6th grade for 4 years before I taught 5th and 3rd grades.  I have spent the last 4 years teaching 3rd grade.

Are you married?

Yes, I have a wife named Margaret who is a librarian at another school in Arlington.

Do you have any kids?

Yes, we have a 5 year old daughter named Molly, and a 2 year old son named Jake.

What are some things you like?

​I like the Texas Rangers, Boston Red Sox, Dallas Mavericks, Dr. Pepper, and cooking.  If I wasn't a teacher, I think I would like to be a chef.

 

Where did you go to college?

I graduated from McMurry University in Abilene, TX in 2003. I also graduated with my Masters in Educational Administration, so yes I can be a principal, from the University of North Texas in 2009.

 

What teacher certifications do you have?

I have several teacher certification including EC-4 Generalist, 4-8 Generalist, 4-8 Math, All-level Health, All-level PE, All-level ESL, and my Principal certifications.

 

Where are you from?

I grew up in Borger, TX which is at the top of Texas.

 

Do you have any pets?

Yes!!  We have a 5 year old Boston terrier named Roscoe.
